Highlights of the program will be the World Premiere of Hear Me With Your Eyes by Allison Sniffin, an award-winning composer and performer with the Meredith Monk Ensemble, and the U.S. premiere of Mexican composer Jorge Córdoba’s Tres ambientes nocturnes (Three Ambient Nocturnes for Women’s Chorus). The Sniffin work is a setting of love poems based on texts of the 17th century nun and poet-philosopher Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, whose writings celebrate love, champion women’s rights and poke fun at social manners.
