Travel Tip: Classical Music in Portugal Ute Lemper
Ute Lemper PORTUGAL LISBON • Grande Audiotrio • 24 November 2012
Ute Lemper , a singer of considerable theatricality became famous and conquered an enormous cult by interpreting the classical repertory of Berlin’s cabarets or Kurt Weill’s and Bertolt Brecht’s songs. The quest for new challenges also took her to the chanson and to the songs of Broadway, as well as, more recently, to the sensuality of Astor Piazzolla’s sophisticated tango and to Charles Bukowski’s poetry. A journey made in the company of the Vogler Quartet and of the versatile Stefan Malzew.
