Karl Lagerfeld: Fire Etchings SWITZERLAND ST. MORITZ  •  Galerie Gmurzynska  •  19 February - 23 March 2013     Situated in Galerie Gmurzynska’s St. Moritz location, across from Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, Lagerfeld will display a body of work created from backlit glass that has had its image etched into the surface by fire. The works combine a brand new medium, for art and the artist, with Lagerfeld’s iconic photography talent. Large scale and unique, the exhibition focuses on images Lagerfeld has abstracted of some of his current muses: the rapper, Theophilus London; and the models, Freja Beha Erichsen and Aymeline Valade. Together these pieces create Lagerfeld’s answer to contemporary portraiture.
