Baldwin's Nigger R E L O A D E D
ENGLAND
LONDON  •  Iniva  •  22 August 2014

Iniva is host to Baldwin's Nigger R E L O A D E D, a project created in partnership with artist Barby Asante and the London based collective of thinkers and artists ‘sorryyoufeeluncomfortable’.

In the 1969 film Baldwin's Nigger (dir. Horace Ové), author/activist James Baldwin and comedian Dick Gregory discuss the black experience in the United States relating it to the Afro-Caribbean experience in Britain.

Through artworks, interventions, performances, DJ sets, workshops and film screenings, the collective responds to the themes (race/identity/legacy) discussed in the film by setting up contemporary conversations through creative formats.
