Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal
The company is bringing a program of two European choreographers - TooT by Dutch choregrapher Didy Veldman, to the music of Shostakovich Jazz Suite No. 2, and Noces by Flemish by Stijn Celis to Igor Stravinsky's Les Noces.
TooT is set in a circus milieu with benches in a ring with set and costumes by Miriam Buether.
In Noces, Flemish choreographer Stijn Celis has put his dancers in whiteface - 12 women in white caps with cloth braids (a reference to Bronislava Nijinska's original Les Noces from 1923) - and the 12 men are in black suits (costumes by Catherine Voeffray).
